Welcome to LovaBelle Babies!!  My Name is Jessica and I am the artist here at the nursery in Brandon, Florida. I turn dolls into LovaBelle Babies with the art of Newborning (or reborning).  Take a look around at my creations.

What is Newborning?

Newborning is an art form that turns a vinyl doll into a one of a kind realistic heirloom baby.  It begins with a world renowed artist such as Adrie Stoete, Elly Knoops, Tasha Edenholm or Denise Pratt (just to name a few).  They  sculpt a baby that then turns into a vinyl kit.  That's when my work begins.. I use special paints that has been specifically designed to be used on vinyl.  The paint is used in several layers to acheive the perfect baby "skin" tone.  The paint is cured in the oven at a specific temperature and length of time. Once the painting process is complete, I begin rooting the hair one hair at a time.  When the rooting is complete, it looks as if the hair is growing right out of the head.  It is a very time consuming process, but well worth it. Now it's time to put the baby together.  Not only does the baby LOOK real, but now I must make it FEEL real.  This is done at the assembling phase.  I use the finest glass granules and poly-fill to add weight to the baby. In the end what you get is a beautiful LovaBelle Baby.
